About Fairfax Community Church
Our Mission
Why do we exist?

To engage the culture with the good news of the Kingdom and invite others into a community committed to following Jesus.

Our Strategy
How do we accomplish our mission?

By creating relevant environments where people are equipped to love God and love others.

Our Two Essential Environments

Corporate Worship
– The purpose of corporate worship is to equip people to love God and love others by creating a predictable and relevant environment that celebrates the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and challenges the secular mindset with a Biblical perspective of self, others and God.

Small Groups  – The purpose of small groups is to call people and equip people to love God and love others by creating a predictable and conversational environment that pursues authentic community through mutual learning, care and accountability.

We desire for every person who is a part of Fairfax Community Church to regularly participate in these two environments. Everything else we do is designed to serve either as an "on-ramp" to move people to one of these two environments or a "catalyst" to mobilize people to serve.

Our Core Values
What are the values that guide our behavior as we seek to accomplish our mission?

Biblical AuthorityDefines the good news of the Kingdom.  We recognize the Bible as the authoritative Word of God.  The Bible provides the guidance to live transformed, gospel-centered lives that reflect Kingdom values.
Question:  Are you regularly studying and reflecting upon the truth of scripture?

Persistent PrayerEmpowers us to live as citizens of the Kingdom.  Prayer acknowledges our total and complete dependency upon God.  It empowers us to live the transformed, gospel-centered life that God has called us to live.
Question:  Is prayer a regular and necessary part of your life?

Strategic ServiceDemonstrates the presence of the Kingdom. God calls us to serve. Our service has the greatest impact when our individual strengths and passions are strategically utilized to accomplish God's mission in the world.
Question: Where are you serving?

Intentional ApprenticingEquips others to serve in the Kingdom. In order for our mission to be sustainable and reproducible, we must pass along to others the knowledge, skills and values that will enable them to serve.
Question: Whom are you apprenticing?

Unreasonable GenerosityIncreases our capacity to expand the Kingdom.  God calls us to steward the financial resources He has entrusted to our care. When we are generous with those resources it removes obstacles for accomplishing the mission to which we have been called.
Question: Are you growing in the grace of giving?

Radical Hospitality Invites others into the Kindgom.  We are surrounded by people who are not yet followers of Jesus Christ.  God calls us to invite them into our lives and our church community so they might see and hear the good news of the Kingdom.
Question: Whom are you inviting into the Kingdom?
